![]() The ultimate act of kindness and compassion is to love yourself unconditionally and know that you are worthy of that love. You will then be the mirror of that expression of love reflecting to everyone around you so that they also know they are worthy and lovable. When we find someone in pain - physically, mentally, spiritually - feeling sorry for them does them no good and may even create deeper feelings of being a victim and feeling unworthy. Instead see beyond the current pain to the core of who they truly are. While you offer support and empathy for their current pain, let them know the beautiful, strong, resilient person you see in them. Hold that vision for them and they will soon be able to hold it for themselves. That is true compassion.
